The Autumn Tag

I was struggling today to think of a post for #blogtober and to be honest it's been a stressful day so I thought I'd keep it simple and do a tag. I found the questions from Megan Jean . So here we go...

1. Ok we're talking coffees - what's your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero
   etc?
I don't drink coffee so that's out of the question... but if I did it would be a gingerbread latte. However I love the Costa seasonal hot chocolates!

2. Accessories - what do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves?
I love boots so much, I hate summery shoes and will always feel a lot more comfortable in boots! I normally struggle to find a pair of boots I love (and that fit) but I found some lovely ones in Asda this year! I also love a big scarf to keep me warm! I really want to find a cape thingy this year as well but I just haven't found the one yet.

3. Music - what's your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?
Although I listen to him all year round, Passenger is perfect for this time of year!

4. Perfume - what's your favourite scent for this time of year?
I'm currently loving YSL Black Opium which is perfect scent for this time of year I think!

5. Candles - what scents will you be burning this season?
Is it weird that I'm slightly scared of candles as I'm worried they will cause a fire? Well... talking hypothetically if I were to burn them I'd love to use the Bath and Body works candles. They have some amazing sounding candles for Autumn including Marshmallow Fireside, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin and Salted Caramel!

6. What do you love most about Autumn?
Bonfire night, wearing boots again, toffee apples, falling leaves, snuggley clothes, cosy nights in... the list goes on!

7. Favourite makeup look?
Berry lips, obviously!

8. What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?
Going to New York next month eeeek and hopefully going to Central Park! Hopefully it will still be looking colourful and autumnal there!

I'm not tagging anyone particular but if you decide to do it then let me know and send me the link!

Winter Jacket Wishlist

winter jackets

I don't know about anyone else but I've definitely noticed a drop in the temperature over the last week. For the first time this season I've felt like a winter coat is becoming appropriate and my gilet is not keeping me quite as cosy as I'd like to be! So bring on winter; the snuggley coats, hot chocolate and huge scarves!

For me, finding the perfect jacket that I know I'll get lots of wear out of isn't always easy but above are a few winter jackets I've found that I would love to add to my wardrobe for this season!

Have you got your eye on any winter jackets? Or purchased yourself a new winter coat? Let me know in the comments or tweet me @_bowsandbuttons

Lush Christmas and Halloween 2015 Wishlist

Lush Christmas 2015

Finally the Lush Halloween and Christmas 2015 products have hit the shelves! One of the highlights of the Christmas season for me is seeing what new products Lush has to offer and also stocking up on my beloved seasonal shower gels (Snow fairy...obviously). However, as much I'd love to rush to my local Lush and buy it all, my bank balance is saying that's probably not a good idea for now. But here are the particular products I've got my eyes on!

Because who doesn't want to have a cute bat containing Lush goodies? And to smother a cranberry face mask all over their face? There's some new products and some oldies but goodies to get your hands on from the seasonal collection!

Have you stocked up on any of the Lush seasonal collection? Let me know what products you want to try but commenting below or tweeting me @_bowsandbuttons

September- Monthly Update

september blog
For some reason September seemed to go on and on. I'm not sure why but for me it's always been a bit an odd month that seems to drag, I had thought it was the torture of summer ending and school/college/university starting again. Apparently not. This was the first September I've been out of education since starting school when I was four (so weird!). In September I graduated from University with a 1st class honours degree, I don't know why but I wasn't really excited for graduation, I really just wanted it over and done with. I expected it to be like one of those cringey awards evenings at school where everyone gets extremely bored and is staring at the clock thinking "how much longer do we have to clap for?". Despite a lot of clapping being involved, graduation was not what I expected and I had such a good time celebrating what I had achieved over the least 3 years and of course wearing the lovely gown and hat!

However for all those students out there - I will give you a heads up, graduate life is not all you hope it to be. Job offers don't come flying your way and you think you're poor being a student? Wait until you finish Uni! I'll save the negativity and moaning about post uni for another time...

Another significant thing that happened this month is one of my longest and closest friends leaving to go on her New Zealand adventure. Currently on a years working holiday VISA, she's exploring and documenting all her journey on a blog > exploreacorner.wordpress.com/ - which you should definitely take some time to read and see what she's been doing since she arrived there mid September!

Also at the end of September, I booked flights to go out to New York (again) at the end of November (wooooo!). I'm so excited about going, despite only having been in June! It's going to be so nice seeing everywhere looking Autumnal, the city getting ready for Christmas and of course celebrating Thankgiving!

In October I'm going to be blogging everyday as part of #blogtober, trying to get a bit healthier and attempting to feel a bit more positive after a bit of a negative time this month!

What did you get in September? Do you have any goals for October? Let me know in the comments or tweet me @_bowsandbuttons

#Blogtober - First Post!

Can I blog everyday in October? I may not be the most consistent blogger but I'm going to give it a shot!

Unlike every other generic beauty blogger or YouTuber, surprisingly I actually don't think September went fast! For me it seemed to drag and for at least the last week I've been already mentally living in October. September was a bit of meh month, like any other month, it's had it's highs and it's had it lows. As for October, I haven't got a lot planned - I just need to resist the temptation to hibernate as I highly doubt this nice weather is going to stick around.

As for blogging everyday as part of #blogtober as of yet I have nothing scheduled... how bloggers find the time to do that when they've got jobs etc, I don't know! However I've got plenty of ideas and inspiration so hopefully it'll all come together soon!

Are you taking part in #blogtober? Let me know in the comments or tweet me @_bowsandbuttons
