August Summary

August has been a month of ups and downs, I haven't really accomplished anything significant but I have been working towards long term goals such as learning to drive and saving up money for my last year at University (scary!).

The time I have had free in August, I've definitely tried to make the most of, even if I just have a few hours free I'll make sure I spend some quality time with my loved ones, especially my lovely boyfriend. Living apart over Summer while not at Uni has proven to be pretty difficult with us both working and catching up with old friends in our home town. I've treasured the moments I've been able to spend with friends, my boyfriend and others but cannot wait until I finish my job next week and seeing everyone before returning back to University!

This month's foodie photos featured above express my fight I've been having to stay healthy, I've tried and tried (and tried) to eat healthy when possible but my job gives me free (not so healthy) food and when I'm working 10 hour days it's extremely hard to resist. The magic stars represent eating and treating myself due to stress, it's not comfort eating exactly, more just nibbling in the evening as I haven't had the time to eat regular meals! I've set myself the goal of eating more healthy once I return to Uni, hopefully this will make things easier as I will be controlling what is in the cupboards! I also plan to start exercising in September... something that hasn't happened at all this month! It's not so much about losing weight just regaining body confidence and feeling healthy.

The top right photo is a picture I snapped before work one day, it's sometimes hard to see the silver linings but living near a place so beautiful is certainly one! I'll miss seeing the sea everyday and the peace of the mornings when no one is around. I definitely should take more time to appreciate this beautiful view more!

The last photo (an extremely grumpy selfie!) shows my determination to perfect a winged eyeliner look! I'm slowly getting there, I think it's looking pretty decent in this photo, if I say so myself! But some days it just doesn't go to plan, just me that has an inconsistent skill level in relation to winged eyeliner?! Other than that I've been keeping my makeup pretty natural but cannot wait to whack out the berry lip shades for Autumn/Winter!

September is full of hope and goals, I can't wait to pursue all the opportunities it will bring! During in this month I start back at Uni and begin the final year of my Psychology degree! Scary and stressful stuff but I can't wait for it! I also plan to make a schedule for posts for my blog and maybe start up a blogging series which once I'm back in a routine I will find time to do!

Have you done everything you wanted in August? What are your goals for September?

Drugstore Haul

Only this morning I was telling myself I need start saving money and then I fell into Superdrug and this happened. Well, I technically saved money cause a few of the things were on offer, right?

Bit of a random combination of random bits of pieces but here you go...

Superdrug Coconut Oil

A while back I asked on Twitter how to get rid of acne scars, a lot, well the majority in fact, said to try using coconut oil. This had always been at the back of my mind but I hadn't really tried looking for it and hadn't seen it in the shops, until today, it was actually with the hair stuff but says you can use it on skin too so I'm going to give it a whirl. At only £1.49 (currently on offer) it's not exactly breaking the bank and if I don't like it on my skin I'll try using it on my hair!

got2b Heat Protection

Now, this is one thing I am terrible at doing and the worst thing is I know how bad heat is on my poor hair... but I'm usually just too lazy to do it. Plus at the moment I only have small travel size ones and can never find them. I think this product is recently released so was on offer...okay, no wait, the stupid offer didn't go through, great, I believe it was meant to be on offer for £1.99 but it went through at £2.66 which y'know still isn't a bad price for a heat protectant. I've never tried any of the got2b hair range, however, when I got home I did realise it's in fact Schwarzkopf which I haven't had the best experience with their hair dye... we shall see, I'm sure a review will be up in a few weeks!

Barry M Nail Paint "Raspberry"

I've been dieing to wear darker colours on my nails, I've just got a bit bored of summery pastels and bright colours as I don't like my nails to be too in your face. I've seen this colour and nearly bought it a few times but managed to control myself but well, it just magically hopped into my basket...

got2b Oil-licious Tame & Shine Styling Oil

The story behind this one is that I wanted some Argan oil but it was £2.99 for 10ml (yes really!) and I was not going to pay that much then this one caught my eye and said it's got Argan oil in it! So, I thought I'd get a bit more for my money. This was on offer for £2.66 (I think it's normally £3.99!) for 50ml! Talking of Argan oil though, I've heard it's meant to do wonders and am also really excited about trying out the new Body Shop Wild Argan Oil range (check it out here)

Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara

So, the big eyes mascara is a relatively new release from Maybelline, it has two brushes, one for upper lashes and one for lower lashes. Personally I love the idea as I can never get my lower lashes perfect with a normal brush.. they kinda look quite spidery but this claims to "magnify tiny lashes". I've heard a few bloggers and Youtubers mention this mascara, although mainly I've got the gist that it's best getting it for the lower lash end... we shall see! I haven't yet tried a Maybelline mascara that I haven't liked and used up!

L'Oreal Super liner in "Intense Black"

Now, I have wanted to purchase this eyeliner for a while, but have always told myself it's not worth paying the money when you can get a Collection one for £2.99 which happily does the same job. Well, I needed a replacement Collection eyeliner but there wasn't a single one, I even got the nice Superdrug lady to check underneath (do you ever do this without asking if no one's looking? I never have, I don't have the guts but I've heard beauty bloggers say they do!). I was in such a strop that they didn't have it I decided it was fate and I had to spend the extra money and try it out! I have heard a lot of good things about it though..

L'Oreal Matt and Messy Salt Spray

This is an old favourite of mine, it helps tame the frizz and curl and help you get the purposely done messy look. I've got a few bottles back at my Uni house but am desperate to start using it again get beachy looking hair. I absolutely adore the little bottle it comes in too!

Have you tried any of these products? What products would you like to see reviewed?

AUGUST WISHLIST

Although I recently haven't been posting on my blog as much as intended (all for good reason, a makeover is coming soon, keep your eyes peeled!) it doesn't mean I have stopped drooling over beauty products. There's (quite) a few things I've got my eyes on at the moment, I'm just waiting for a reason to treat myself to them to come along!

Essie Lux Duo Kit Sparkle On Top £12.99 - I've recently purchased a quite a few of the Barry M varnishes however in comparison to my Essie polishes they chip so quickly and are less easy to apply. I really love the cute Essie sets and have an eye on a few colours for Autumn/Winter (yes I'm thinking about it already...). Also the combination of the mint and the glitter would look gorgeous and after the lovely Tabitha West (see her blog here) tweeted a photo of a glitter nail look I really want to have a go for myself!

Tanya Burr Lipgloss (Smile Dream Sparkle, Vampire Kiss and Picnic In The Park) £6.99 - Yes I know, I am a bit late to the party with this one but I wanted to see what others thought of this range before rushing out and potentially wasting my money. I've heard good things about these products and think the colour range is amazing. I think these would be perfect for when I'm back at uni when I don't have much time in the mornings to get ready. Also I would love to try out the nail varnishes but haven't really heard as much about them (if you've tried them let me know!)

Sleek Blush Sweet Cheeks £9.99 - Most beauty bloggers go on and on (and on and on) about the Sleek blushes! In my local Superdrug they don't supply Sleek so haven't had the chance to pick one up. I think the combination of colours is perfect and from all the great things I've heard and read I am desperate to see what they live up to my expectations!

Yes To Tomatoes Pore Scrub - £12.00 - Recently I've been trying to establish a skincare routine that I'm happy with and can actually commit to, in hope the my spotty skin will behave. In the process of this I'm trying to find some products I'm happy to incorporate. Recently I've heard a lot of beauty bloggers talking about the "Yes to" range. This scrub is " 99% natural ingredients" and has ingredients to fight acne. I'm a huge fan of natural products and companies which understand the importance of this.

Black Formal Floral Print Zip Front Backpack £22.99- September is creeping nearer which means back to Uni for me! For me, it's so important to have a good sturdy bag that can carry everything I need for a day of uni and this looks perfect!

While I am trying to save money for post uni I may have to treat myself to a few of these things before going back to University! Have you tried any these products? Or anything you would recommend either skin care or for back to uni makeup?
